ShortTranscript turns the spoken English in public TikTok videos and Instagram Reels into editable text. It is a browser-based tool for creators, researchers, and people who want to keep useful notes from short videos without typing every sentence manually. I am Julian Tao, its individual maker. Paste a supported public video link, review the duration and any credit quote, and start transcription. The result contains timestamped segments that can be checked against the original video and edited before copying or downloading. This is useful for collecting quotes, drafting captions, or preparing notes from an interview, tutorial, or spoken explanation. A transcript still needs review when speakers overlap, music covers speech, or names and specialist terms are unclear. Guests can complete three successful free transcripts per UTC day, with a five-minute limit for each video, without creating an account. Copying the result and downloading TXT are included in that free workflow. The free offer is subject to the site's processing availability and budget. Failed tasks do not consume the successful-transcript allowance. Optional one-time credit packs cost $4.99 for 150 credits or $19.99 for 800 credits. One credit covers one started minute; the duration quote appears before processing and failed tasks do not charge credits. Paid workflows support videos up to 60 minutes, batches of up to 20 links, and SRT, VTT, and DOCX exports. These purchases are not subscriptions and do not renew automatically. The current scope is English speech in accessible public TikTok videos and Instagram video posts, including Reels. Private or unavailable videos and Instagram Stories are excluded. ShortTranscript does not provide translation. Music-only recordings or distant, unintelligible voices may produce no usable transcript.
